Job Description

Individuals interested in this position should have current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship is not an option for this role.

We welcome you to bring your expertise in Air Quality to the table as you participate in pioneering and eco-friendly air quality solutions to support the growth of our offices around Ann Arbor, MI, Indianapolis, IN, or Cincinnati, OH. To excel in this position, you should possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on air quality.

The chosen candidate will lead both technically and in business aspects, contributing to innovative solutions in various sectors such as commercial, manufacturing, government, energy, financial, insurance, and/or law. Additionally, the successful candidate needs to show the ability to attract and retain enough business to facilitate the firm's expansion, typically enough to sustain 1-2 staff members.

This person should have a background in managing consulting projects, collaborating effectively in interdisciplinary teams, demonstrating proficiency in analyzing and communicating information, and working cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to provide guidance for decision-making processes. The successful candidate should also be skilled in all aspects of project management. They are expected to have a dedication to mentoring, educating, and advancing the skills of Associate and Manager level staff while working closely with colleagues within the Practice.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Developing a structure for an Air Quality Service Line training program, including creating and organizing training sessions and courses on AQ-related topics
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for business growth;
  • Supervising projects, clients, and relationships with regulatory agencies;
  • Thoroughly examining and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations, compiling and drafting determinations on regulatory applicability, and sharing findings with colleagues, clients, and regulatory bodies;
  • Supervising the creation of comprehensive federal and state air permit applications;
  • Engaging in local, national, and international meetings of scientific and trade organizations;
  • Conducting on-site visits; and
  • Adhering to Ramboll's and client's safety protocols and workplace safety standards.

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related field;
  • 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting specializing in air quality;

  • Demonstrated skills in comprehending, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations in practical scenarios;
  • Knowledge of air quality challenges and approved methods and guidelines from agencies;
  • Capability to manage client and regulatory agency relationships externally and handle internal team and project priorities efficiently; and
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business development.
