Job Title: Patient Care Department Head

Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Summary:

As the Patient Care Department Head, you will lead the management and direction of patient care and medical support services at the hospital. Your role involves overseeing staff, patient management, and operational activities to deliver exceptional customer service and medical care. Collaborating with colleagues and leadership, you will work towards enhancing patient care and client experience. You will also ensure compliance with regulations and be responsible for resolving patient and client care issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations and staff
  • Collaborate with the team to enhance patient care and service
  • Oversee departmental budgets and staffing
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and compliance
  • Implement and uphold hospital policies
  • Provide training for staff
  • Manage patient flow and care
  • Address client and staff concerns
  • Perform employee evaluations
  • Lead by example and motivate the team
  • Ensure quality assurance and inventory support
  • Resolve departmental grievances

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of veterinary care desirable
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Weekend availability required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior management experience mandatory
  • Veterinary medicine experience preferred
  • Ability to handle equipment and patients of varying weights
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and computer skills
  • Strong communication skills for patient safety
