Osawatomie State Hospital, located in Miami County, provides care for adults with psychiatric disorders regardless of ability to pay. The hospital comprises Osawatomie State Hospital (OSH) and Adair Acute Care (AAC), a 60-bed facility certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

This position at Osawatomie State Hospital may have varying work hours, including weekends. A negative drug screen is required for employment.

The Psychiatric APRN role involves providing psychiatric and some medical services, including admitting, evaluating, and treating patients. They are responsible for documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), medication orders, and collaborating with medical staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Eligibility for APRN licensure in Kansas, two years' APRN experience, PMHNP and FNP Certification.

Preferred Qualifications: Two years' experience working with patients with acute and chronic medical issues, including mental illness.

Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, twist, bend, squat, and lift residents, as needed, and respond to aggressive behavior.
