Job Description:

This role is part of the Underwriting department within National General's auto division, which is a segment of Allstate's insurance business. The position has been newly established to provide support to the underwriting team in handling a high volume of policy requests efficiently.

Responsibilities of this role include resolving various types of policy and billing inquiries in a professional and accurate manner for internal and external customers. The role involves documenting customer requests, completing policy changes, and addressing service concerns through inbound/outbound calls, correspondence, and other communication channels.

  • Address routine, complex, and unique questions/issues.
  • Ensure first call resolution and customer satisfaction for all transactions.
  • Use probing questions and active listening to understand customer needs with empathy.
  • Process policy changes accurately and identify cross-sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of insurance policies and related processes.
  • Handle customer documentation requests and provide clear explanations along with any necessary follow-ups.
  • Stay updated on new marketing campaigns to address inquiries effectively.
  • Input and track relevant information in databases.
  • Expected volume is approximately 50-75 calls per day, mostly inbound.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service/call center experience in the auto insurance industry supporting underwriting teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
