**Job Description:**

Envistacom has a requirement for an experienced procurement professional with previous experience in the SATCOM, Aerospace, or Defense Industry to fill the role of Buyer III. This position will be part of the Supply Chain team and will report to the Purchasing Manager. The Buyer III will assist in driving the development and implementation of Envistacom commodity strategies resulting in best-in-class quality, delivery, and total cost of ownership and is responsible for the acquisition of material, parts, and services in support of new and existing programs and has a direct impact on production and customer fulfillment. Additionally, the Buyer III supports multiple programs through RFQ execution, negotiations, market analysis, strategy development, contract management as well as data gathering and analysis. The qualified candidate must have a thorough understanding and experience with federal acquisition principles, theories, concepts, regulations, and experience demonstrating a broad application of those practices, techniques, and standards.

**Job Responsibilities:**

Source and procures materials, parts, and services of a technical commodity nature from suppliers based upon MRP generated requirements information, confirming price, and expected delivery date as required

Identifies and recommends suppliers, determines capabilities, and recommends supplier additions or changes to management

Understands and utilizes the ASL (Approved Supplier List) in supporting the timely placement of purchase orders.

Maintains current knowledge of prices and trends and availability of new products/sources

Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing and historical performance to determine most desirable suppliers

Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations at the most competitive value (Best Value) consistent with Envistacom and Customer expectations regarding quality, quantity, delivery, and other factors

Evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules

Schedule and track purchase orders to support production schedule.

Issue purchase orders to include applicable Terms & Conditions and customer Flow down requirements

Provide prompt and professional purchasing services to internal customers by communicating effectively with Leadership, Program Management, Integration, Engineering and Production Planning

Manage open purchase orders to ensure that suppliers deliver parts/services on-time

Resolve discrepancies in pricing, delivery, and accounting with suppliers

Maintain inventory levels for required parts in accordance with established policies and program requirements

Work with the Materials Management and Quality team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies including creating RTV and shipping documents

Maintains accurate supplier, purchase order and department files, including MRB activities in accordance with policy and procedure

Assist buyers and junior buyers as needed

**Job Requirements:**

BA/BS in a relevant field or equivalent

5-10 years of experience in procurement or materials planning and ideally in a manufacturing environment

Proficient in the government acquisition process with a strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency supplements, such as Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS).

Knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP (Enterprise Resource Planning/Materials Requirements Planning) systems and tools preferably Deltek CostPoint and similar methodologies

Experience with handling multiple high-visibility and critical tasks simultaneously.

2-3 years of related experience in defense industry or in a related area

Familiar with engineering drawings, quoting processes, materials, goods, and services

Experience in managing deliveries and using sound purchasing practices

Strong negotiating skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced Excel and V lookup experience is a plus

Ability to create reports and business correspondence

Excellent organization, communication, and time management ability

Must be a U.S. citizen

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a comprehensive background check
