Home Study and Post Release Team Lead

The Home Study and Post Release Team Lead (HS/PR Team Lead) oversees the Home Study and Post release case managers in our North and South Carolina operations.

The team lead is accountable for contract compliance and fiscal management. S/he develops and cultivates resources to support and expand program services.

S/he guides staff in prioritizing service delivery tasks to ensure contractual compliance, timely delivery of core services, proper reporting, and, most importantly, to ensure that the needs of our most vulnerable clients are addressed.

Parameters of service provision are spelled out by our funders (Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS), The Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) and Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC)).


Essential Functions:

  • Oversee daily operations of the immigrant services team, providing guidance, leadership, and direct support in all aspects of service provision.
  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, supervision, training and evaluation of immigrant services team members. Assist Case managers by providing case management in times of staffing crisis or high arrivals/placements.
  • Assist with compliance with all reporting requirements as requested by ORR, LIRS, PRM and/or LSC. Ensure compliance with CQI, confidentiality standards, contractual obligations, and HIPAA guidelines in service delivery and case documentation.
  • Actively participate in all LIRS meetings, calls, and trainings.
  • Remain abreast of policy and procedural changes initiated by the contractor or ORR. Maintain Policy and Procedure files and immediately share updates with Immigrant services staff.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all home study and post-release case reports.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Immigrant Services Program Coordinator on the status of the programs, clients, and outcomes and provide timely reports on any management and contract compliance issues.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, co-sponsors and volunteers, local providers, and organizations.
  • Cultivate culture of teamwork and leadership development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree required, in social work or a related field.

Experience:
3 years' of case management experience or 1 year with Master's degree. Administration, management, and supervisory experience are highly preferred.

Specific skills/abilities:
Fluency in Spanish required.
Public relations and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent ability to work under pressure with deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail. Be flexible and able to balance competing demands. Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic differences. Willingness to comply with extensive and rigorous documentation demands. Willingness to make tough decisions in an environment of constrained resources. Insight into human behavior and motivations. Possess and display compassion. Outstanding organizational, leadership and teambuilding skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in a multicultural setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), internet research, and experience using databases and information gathering systems.

Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc: Valid driver's license and reliable access to an insured vehicle.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • This is a home-based position. Working in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and carry, reach overhead.
  • Ambulatory throughout all areas.
  • Travel within the NC and SC will be required as necessary for supervision, case management, meetings and/or trainings.
