Top Tier Healthcare organization is in search of a Certified Medical Coder to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to autonomously and effectively carry out the tasks of assigning accurate diagnosis and procedures codes to patients' health information records for various facilities such as Emergency Department (ED), Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), Hospital Ambulatory Surgical Center (HAS), Observations (OBS), and Inpatient (IP). Ensure a high level of performance in quality and productivity for ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and HCPCS | CPT coding systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum five (5) years of coding experience, with a focus on inpatient facility coding or Kaiser Coding Auditor role for at least four (4) years.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is a must.
  • Candidate must hold one of the following certifications: Registered Health Information Technician Certificate | Coding Specialist Certificate | Registered Health Information Administrator Certificate.
  • Prior experience with EMR patient documentation system and proficient computer skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of disease processes, diagnostic and surgical procedures, as well as expertise in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS | CPT coding systems. Familiarity with health information regulations and fraud prevention.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding principles for ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS | CPT.
  • Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organization, and analytical abilities.
  • Capable of handling a substantial workload, working well under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates independent thinking and judgment.
  • Adheres to the Standards of Ethical Coding established by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
  • Meets and upholds department standards for performance, productivity, and quality.
  • Candidates will undergo a coding skill test provided by the department and must score 75% or higher.
  • Academic background and practical experience in coding and abstracting within health information/medical record services.

This is a full-time day position with an 8-hour shift. Flexibility to choose a start time between 6:00am to 9:00am | Monday to Friday.

This position is REMOTE and requires residency in either Washington or Oregon.
