Maitre'd and Dining Room Supervisor

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Guest Relations: Greet members and guests upon arrival, provide personalized service, and ensure their dining experience exceeds expectations.
  • Reservations and Seating: Manage reservations efficiently, coordinate seating arrangements, divide the dining room into server sections, and optimize table turnover while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead and motivate dining room staff, including servers, hosts, and bussers, ensuring smooth service operations and adherence to service standards.
  • Training and Development: Train new staff members on service procedures, product knowledge, and club policies. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Quality Control: Monitor dining room ambiance, cleanliness, and presentation standards to uphold the club's reputation for excellence.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and effectively, demonstrating diplomacy and professionalism in resolving issues.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine pairings, to assist guests with menu selections.
  • Financial Management: Assist in monitoring dining room expenses, inventory levels, and revenue generation opportunities, contributing to the profitability of the restaurant operation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, liquor laws, and club policies related to food and beverage service.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a fine dining establishment or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Detailoriented approach with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficiency in, and/or willingness to learn, POS systems, reservation software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and protocol.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business.
