About the Role



As the Category Manager reporting to the Head of Commerce, you'll play a key role in our brand recruitment strategy, collaborating with brands to shape the future of live shopping. Your main task will be to discover and attract talented Makers to our platform, catering to a unique audience that appreciates handmade, artisanal, and small batch products. You'll spearhead communications with potential brands and Makers, overseeing the entire process from identification to launch, making it easy for consumers to explore and shop.

Your Role's Impact
  • Represent: Serve as the face of our organization to the Maker community, driving brand attraction through proactive outreach at various events and shows.
  • Identify Brands: Scout for products and Makers that align with our platform, engaging them in potential partnerships.
  • Prepare for Launch: Coordinate product onboarding, assortment management, pricing, and promotional strategies to ensure a successful launch.
  • Pitch: Lead outreach efforts and communication with potential Makers, keeping the rest of the team informed of progress.
  • Optimize Process: Establish best practices to engage Makers, onboard them effectively, and strategize for successful launches.
  • Enhance Selection: Utilize market insights and competitor analysis to refine brand assortment based on consumer trends.
  • Utilize Feedback: Analyze sales performance, user feedback, and metrics to shape product selection criteria.
  • Understand Consumers: Deepen our understanding of target consumers, their preferences, and shopping behaviors.
  • Drive Performance: Deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to management and leadership teams.
  • Team Management: Support team growth by onboarding new members and overseeing temporary staff and analysts.
Your Qualifications
  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree or possess equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years in buying, merchandising, branding, or marketing preferred, or relevant background.
  • Experience in managing teams and projects directly or indirectly.
  • Knowledge of retail, eCommerce, and sales processes.
  • Strong research skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with Salesforce familiarity as a bonus.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and strategies for broader understanding.
