Are you passionate about providing care to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities? We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Augusta. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will oversee CPAP/BiPAP setups, mask fittings, troubleshooting machines, and educating patients on respiratory therapies.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Respiratory Therapist provides physician-directed therapy and diagnostic evaluation for patients with cardiopulmonary issues. They are responsible for fitting patients with the appropriate mask, ensuring clinical performance, and consulting with physicians on additional interventions when necessary. The RT is the go-to expert on respiratory equipment and therapies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Interprets physician's diagnosis and fits PAP patients with appropriate masks.
  • Ensures clinical performance aligns with physician orders.
  • Consults with physicians in case of adverse reactions to therapies.
  • Accounts for caseload, self-audits performance, and ensures positive outcomes.
  • Complies with state practices and company policies.
  • Utilizes clinical consulting when necessary.
  • Educates patients and healthcare professionals on disease management.
  • Participates in ongoing training on respiratory patient care.
  • Coordinates delivery and information gathering with relevant staff.
  • Maintains inventory and ensures equipment compliance.
  • Participates in on-call rotation and assists in marketing functions.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in staff and performance improvement meetings.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and rights.
  • Maintains professional appearance and attitude.
  • Performs duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree in respiratory care.
  • At least 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Must hold NBRC registration and current RRT or CRT license.
  • In-depth knowledge of Sleep Apnea and Breathing Disorders.
  • Required CPR certification and valid driver's license.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None assigned

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The RT must be able to perform various physical activities throughout the workday.
