DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION


This position will be located in the Department of Airports for the Oklahoma City Airport Trust (OCAT) and will be under the direction of an immediate supervisor.

The DOA requires a fully proficient para-professional responsible for project management of design through construction of major engineering and construction projects.

Specialized work areas include drainage, paving, buildings, and water or sanitary sewer design and construction. Essential job functions will include reviewing or coordinating plans, specifications, and construction for projects prepared by consultants.

Additional functions require preparing various documents and reports including consultant contract amendments and contractor change orders, determining and monitoring funding allocations, and distributing required information to coordinate and facilitate design and construction.


JOB SUMMARY


This position is located in the Engineering and Construction Division of the Airports Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor.

Construction Project Manager is a full proficiency, para-professional classification responsible for the administration and/or supervision of major components of engineering projects.

Specialized work areas include water, storm sewer, paving, building, or sanitary sewer construction.

Essential job functions include:

reviewing or coordinating plans, specifications, and construction for projects prepared by the City within an assigned functional area both in house and at field locations; reviewing plans prepared by consultants that may impact the area; preparing various documents and reports; determining and monitoring funding allocations; and distributing required information to coordinate and facilitate construction.

Construction Project Managers may supervise technical staff, with work products subject to review by a Civil Engineer or other immediate supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primarily indoors in a climate-controlled environment; outside occasionally; exposed to heat, cold, humidity, rain, etc.

Typical City employee working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Near vision enough to read and draft written communications; including the ability to read the fine print found in specification books and on reduced copies of maps and plans, computer-generated reports, etc.
  • Hearing and speech enough to communicate via telephone or in-person.
