Veterinary Technician/Nurse_
to provide assistance to the Veterinarians of the hospital in the medical care of its feline and canine patients... and sometimes pigs... and a few rabbits

We are an extremely busy non-profit veterinary hospital located in Carrollwood. We perform upwards of 60 surgical procedures a day, a full schedule of exams and a walk-in vaccine clinic.
We need very hard working, motivated individuals who love a challenge and have a deep compassion for animals in need.
We are looking for service minded individuals with knowledge in general small animal medicine, surgery and emergencies.- Medication dosages and administration
- Vaccine administration
- Acquiring laboratory samples and processing inhouse lab samples
- Anesthesia induction and monitoring for surgical procedures
- IV catheter placement
- Dental scaling
- Surgical preparation
- Hospitalized patient care
- Wound care
- Emergency care
- Animal restraint
- Laser therapy,
- Digital radiology familiarity
- Euthanasia protocols,
- Client communication & sales.
Safely lifting up to 50 pounds and proper ability to restraint animals are required as well.
Key Competencies for the job requires verbal and written communication skills (English/Spanish preferred) including knowledge of medical terminology, professional personal presentation, client service principles and practices, information management, organization abilities, attention to detail, initiative, and reliability, compassion & stress tolerance.
Education:
A minimum of a High School Degree or G.E.D. is required. Associates degree, CVT, LVT and/or 2-5 years' experience working in the veterinary field preferred.

$18.00 to $21.00 /hour
