This positions assigned location will be at One Energy Plaza in Jackson, MI.

**We are looking for:** **Executive Director - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion**

The Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion serves as the business partner executive that is focused on the overall enterprise strategy for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This role reports to the Chief Diversity Officer. Lead internal and external DEI strategy execution. Develop and lead a team in support of our diversity, equity, and inclusion work, including but not limited to, Inclusion Champions, Employee Resource Groups, DEI external surveys and benchmarks, etc. Creates overall functional strategy and goals for Culture and Process Pillar (13-year outlook). Manages department budget, policies & procedures. Develop managers/leaders within sub-function. Engage leadership, enterprise-wide, with DEI strategic priorities and current gaps related to culture. Involvement in Executive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Counsil, officer and union leader engagement and input, Inclusion Champion, and ERG strategic direction, etc.

+ Executive-level communication skills

+ Experience with complex data and translating abstract thoughts and ideas into measurable milestones

+ Problem solving skills and experience using lean tools including scorecard management process

+ Ability to lead and develop other leaders

**We encourage you to apply if you have:**

+ Bachelors degree in business administration, or related field with ten (10) or more years of applicable experience

+ **[OR]** Associates degree in technical, engineering, construction, or related field with fourteen (14) or more years of applicable experience

+ **[OR]** High School Diploma with eighteen (18) or more years of applicable experience

+ Ability to successfully communicate complex, abstract, and/or information difficult to quantify to leadership; support translation of those concepts into concrete milestones or targets.

+ Cross-functional collaboration experience is essential; engaging, gaining buy-in from others and incorporating new ideas to work toward achieving the same goal together.

+ Successfully support development of other leaders and/or supporting development of individual contributors into leadership positions.

_Preferred skills:_

+ Masters Degree

**In this role, you will:**

+ Responsible for the overall enterprise internal and external strategy for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Engages stakeholders to create and develop overall functional strategy and goals for Culture and Process Pillars (1-3 year outlook).

+ Develop and lead a team in support of our diversity, equity, and inclusion work, including but not limited to, Inclusion Champions, Employee Resource Groups, DEI external surveys and benchmarks, etc. Manages department budget, policies, and procedures; develop managers/leaders; provide overall strategic direction, goals, and prioritization.

+ Engage in strategy ideation based on external corporate benchmarking and engagement to bring strategies and best practices back to department for implementation.

+ Empower and coach team to develop and manage both internal and external metrics and indicators to help inform the Office of DE&I, Executive DEI Council, and Executive DEI scorecards to support strategic decision-making and prioritization to close gaps.

+ Key contributor within strategic development of DE&I maturity model; provide guidance, recommendations, and prioritization for Culture and Process Pillars, factoring in data insights (internal and external).

+ Serve as a subject matter expert in DE&I, sharing our strategy and providing coaching to SVP DEI Action Plans and respective team leaders supporting DEI within the business.

+ Ability to lead enterprise-wide projects to resolve a business gap involving different business units across functions in short time periods.

+ Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.
