College and Career Associate

As a College and Career Associate (CCA), you'll be integral in assisting the College and Career Leader with various programs and initiatives, including the College Knowledge program, College Now program, college partnerships, college admission counseling, community service program, college admission testing, alumni program, and financial aid and scholarships. Your role will involve managing and developing people, programs, projects, processes, and policies across all grade levels within the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university required
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred
  • NYS certification in relevant field desirable
  • Three or more years of experience in college access, admissions, or school counseling
  • Experience working with diverse student groups including ELL, special education, general education, and gifted students
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Dedication to supporting student success at Atmosphere
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach
  • Strong track record of working effectively with various stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze data to inform decision-making and support student achievement
  • Previous experience in a charter school or educational setting
  • Adherence to organizational policies and standards

Responsibilities

College Knowledge Program Duties

  • Assist in planning college tours and trips
  • Develop engaging College Knowledge curriculum for 6th-12th graders
  • Create and implement programs for middle and high school students

College Partnerships Duties

  • Engage with local and out-of-state colleges and universities
  • Participate in college fairs and events
  • Support the organization of on-site college fairs

College Admission Counseling Duties

  • Maintain resource library of college materials
  • Communicate with students and families regarding college information
  • Collaborate on delivering essential information and deadlines
  • Assist with application processing and event preparations
  • Support data collection and administrative tasks

Community Service Program Duties

  • Coordinate community service activities and partnerships
  • Communicate service opportunities to students
  • Facilitate communication with community service vendors

College Admission Testing Coordination Duties

  • Manage PSAT, SAT, and ACT testing coordination

Alumni Program Duties

  • Engage with alumni and coordinate events
  • Update alumni information and provide support
  • Track college progression of alumni

Financial Aid and Scholarship Duties

  • Confirm completion of scholarship applications and FAFSA
  • Assist in vetting scholarship candidates

Other Professional Duties

  • Participate in professional organizations
  • Support various projects as assigned
  • Contribute to creating college acceptance celebrations
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated
