The Overdraft Support Specialist is responsible for the daily operations of the Payment Privilege, Start New and Restart programs, both operationally and technically to meet corporate goals and objectives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviews the Payment Privilege/Start New Accounts for the financial institution, contacting the account holders by telephone calls and letters. Manage the collection of NSF payment privilege accounts daily.
  • Approves personal collection activities regarding workouts of Restart Payment Privilege, providing tracking and reporting.
  • Reports accounts to collection agencies and ChexSystems when appropriate.
  • Monitors, identifies, and reacts to potential loss situations to Bank, as well as ensures a secure operation for high-risk items.
  • Ensures various general ledger and internal accounts are balanced and resolves any problems. Maintains documentation for reconciling items.
  • Backup for Quality Assurance or Liability Support as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High School education or equivalent. Associates degree with an emphasis on business, finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years banking, customer service or related experience.
Skills
  • Must be able to work with a significant amount of detailed information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Adequate knowledge of both internal policies and procedures and the respective state and federal laws and regulations governing departmental functions to ensure performance of individual job duties within the proper control environment.
