Summary

Bering Global Solutions is currently seeking a qualified Facility Operations Coordinator with management and operational experience in detention and security operations. The Facility Operations Coordinator will perform a variety of tasks to include examinations of strategic approaches to safety and security, facility compliance, emergency management and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide operational coordination for security and detention operations.
  • Ensure facility standards are communicated to the workforce, and that performance-based standards are met in every aspect of services provided for each contract.
  • Document metrics.
  • Monitoring and reporting compliance with the staffing plan.
  • Ensuring the Quality Control Plan is executed effectively.
  • Monitoring and mentoring subordinate managers, and supervisors.
  • Ensuring facility security and control performance measures are achieved.
  • Review of emergency plans and post orders are effectively providing safe and secure environment for staff.
  • Conducting unannounced, random shift-by-shift inspections to verify logs, records,
    procedures to ensure facility compliance.
  • Reporting operational, administrative, and logistics issues to Operations Manager.
  • Act as a member of the selection panel for management and Supervisory positions.
  • Conducting investigations as necessary of incidents involving detainees and employees
  • Tracking Deliverables; providing required reports.
  • Providing annual performance appraisals of all subordinate managers.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)

  • 10 years of supervisory experience in relevant field maybe substituted for degree requirement.
  • Must demonstrate at least 4 years of work experience in working with ICE National Detention Standards, and/or ICE Performance Based National Detention Standards
  • Must have at least 4 years of project management experience managing a secure
    detention/correctional facility.
  • Must meet ACA requirements and must be able to obtain a ACA Certified Corrections Manager CCM) Certificate within 1 year of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS public trust T1 or T2 Security Clearance
  • Must demonstrate at least 4 years of work experience related to working with labor unions and responding to union grievances.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination and fitness test based upon government and company standards.
  • Certifications related to Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)
  • Certified in Special Response Team (SRT) or Hostage Negotiation Team.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Applicant must have knowledge, skills, abilities, and characteristics that display sound leadership principles for operating a complex and fast paced operation with several hundred staff and stakeholders.
  • Applicant must demonstrate having knowledge and understanding ICE National Detention Standards/Performance Based National Detention Standards and compliance components.
  • Applicant must demonstrate having knowledge and understanding of ACA standards.
  • Must have proficiency in various Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word,
    Excel, Power-Point and Outlook.
  • Applicant must be proficient in writing reports of up to 10 pages involving incidents, proposals and corrective actions.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate disciplines
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Certifications in Leadership from accredited educational institutions or organizations.

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Job is performed in an a detention facility setting. Employee will potential be subjected to encountering situations such as physical acts of violence, emergency incidents involving medical emergencies and fires. The job could potentially entail long periods of standing and long exposure to natural elements, such as hot and cold temperatures, rain and wind.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hires and supervises direct reports.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to DHS installations.
