About this Role:

Responsible for overseeing certification procedures for the designated plant during new model development and full-scale production.

Responsibilities encompass:

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate new model project requirements and full production testing in collaboration with Japan and AH Certification teams. Ensure timely provision of vehicles and components to meet certification testing needs.
  • Act as the primary contact person for certification matters for plants. Coordinate compliance activities for certification markings with affected plant groups. Provide assistance for regulation-related inquiries when required. Support North America Hazardous Materials activities. Attend and relay potential impact items from North America Regulation correlation meetings as necessary.
  • Compile and present certification status during each new model project assessment and mass production shipment evaluations.
  • Coordinate activities for the production of Emission/Fuel Economy Certification vehicles with specialized measured components (involves creating drawings, issuing MI, and placing part orders). These activities pertain to Frame, Engine, and Transmission plants.
  • Assist other members of the Certification PL team as necessary.

Required Background:

• 2-6 years of experience depending on educational background, preferably in a manufacturing or quality setting

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or similar relevant experience

Other job-specific skills:

• Broad understanding of Certification and Regulation prerequisites.

• Familiarity with Honda's vehicle and component ordering systems.

• Competence in leading meetings effectively.

• Strong communication and networking abilities across all organizational levels and with internal and external stakeholders.

• Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

• Strong organizational skills.

Additional Role Considerations:

Must be able to travel to parts receiving locations and validate components (usually within a warehouse environment). Role can primarily be virtual but must be on hand to support on-site activities as necessary. Occasional travel might be required to assist counterparts at other North American facilities (approximately twice yearly). Overtime (5-10 hours per week) may be necessary during peak periods.
