Job Summary:

The Underwriter role at American National Bank involves establishing and nurturing strong relationships with dealers and customers. Responsibilities include analyzing credit applications, making informed credit decisions, and effectively communicating these decisions to respective stakeholders.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Approving retail credit requests within defined limits
  • Collaborating with branch lenders to assess creditworthiness
  • Guiding on consumer loan structures and credit evaluations
  • Maintaining credit standards and advising on policy interpretation
  • Visiting dealers to foster relationships and uphold credit quality

Experience Needed:

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, or telemarketing
  • Knowledge of consumer credit

Education, Licensure & Certification:

  • Degree preferred, High school education required

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of lending practices and credit scoring systems
  • Proficiency in office equipment operation
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on policies
  • Effective communication skills
  • Familiarity with credit regulations and finance techniques
  • Ability to communicate credit terms clearly
