Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Scobey, Montana.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILTIES: Administrative
Functions 1.
Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing
assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that
govern the long-term care facility. 2.
Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you
comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility. 3.
Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with
the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual, and are in
compliance with their job descriptions. 4.
Participate in facility surveys/inspections made by
authorized government agencies as may be requested. 5.
Assist new hires with orientation to residents, care
plans, policies and procedures and duties related to their job descriptions.
Attend and participate in continuing education programs designed to keep you
abreast of changes in your profession as well as maintain your license on a
current status. 6.
Ensure your assigned staff is following HIPAA and
privacy regulations, Abuse policy, resident rights and infection control/safety
policies and procedures. 7.
Charting and Documentation will be done in an
informative and descriptive manner that reflects care provided to resident, as
well as the resident's response to the care. 8.
Chart all reports of accidents and incidents involving
residents by following established procedures. 9.
Provide a full and detailed report to the oncoming
nursing staff. 10. Frequently
review and give input to resident's plan of care and ensure that assigned staff
are following such plan. 11. Notify
the resident's attending provider and next-of-kin when the resident has a
change in condition. Drug Administrative
Functions 1.
Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the
provider. 2.
Follow the five rights of medication administration
including right resident, right drug, right dose, right time and right route. 3.
Ensure that narcotic records are accurate for your
shift. 4.
Notify the Director of Nursing of all drug and narcotic
discrepancies noted on your shift. 5.
Reorder medications as needed. 6.
Notify the attending provider of automatic stop orders
prior to the last dosage being administered. 7.
Dispose of drugs and narcotics as required and in
accordance with established procedures. Personnel Functions 1.
Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to
your unit/shift. 2.
Make daily rounds of your shift to ensure that nursing
service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with
acceptable nursing standards. Report
problems to the Director of Nursing. 3.
Ensure that department personnel, resident and visitors
follow the department's established policies and procedures at all times. 4.
Ensure that departmental disciplinary action is
administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin,
age, sex, religion, handicap or marital status. 5.
Receive/give the nursing report upon reporting in and
ending shift duty hours. Working Conditions 1.
Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors,
government agencies/personnel etc. under all conditions and circumstances. 2.
Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents,
family members, personnel and visitors. 3.
Works beyond normal working hours and in other
positions temporarily when necessary. 4.
Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g.,
server weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.) 5.
Working schedule may vary from days, evenings, weekdays
and weekends.

6.
Must be able to push/pull/move and/or lift a minimum of
fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to
push/pull/move and/or carry such a weight a minimum distance of twenty (20)
feet.
