Attending Veterinarian

Piper Companies is currently seeking an Attending Veterinarian to support a Biotech company focused in creation and supply of biological reagents in Bedford, PA.
Responsibilities of the Attending Veterinarian
·Supervise preventive healthcare, medical treatment, sedation, and pain relief protocols, and handling procedures.
·Ensure compliance with Veterinary Care Program SOPs and institutional standards.
·Advise on potential clinical complications from experimental procedures.
·Provide oversight for surgical programs and perioperative care.
·Coordinate veterinary care for all animal housing units.
·Diagnose, treat, and conduct necropsies; maintain accurate medical records.
Qualifications of the Attending Veterinarian
·Candidate must possess a DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary college, or its foreign equivalent.
·Licensure in Pennsylvania and Category II Federal Accreditation are mandatory.
·Preference for Diplomate status with the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM).
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience with small ruminants.
·Preferred experience with cattle and rabbits.
·A background or experience in farm animal husbandry is advantageous.
·Knowledge of cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations is beneficial
Compensation for the Attending Veterinarian
·Salary range is commensurate with experience
