This position requires an SLP licensed in North Carolina with the necessary credentials and experience to handle a full-time, on-site caseload ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. Below are the key details and responsibilities for this job:

Job Details
  • Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Start/End Dates: August 19, 2024 End of School Year (EOSY)
  • Schedule: Full Time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday
  • Grades: Pre-K 12th
  • Caseload Size: 60 students
  • Locations: 2-4 different sites
General Responsibilities
  • Assistance: Help students with special communicative needs to maximize their communicative potential based on age and cognition. This includes addressing deficits or abnormalities in articulation, language, voice, and fluency.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with educational staff and families to coordinate services.
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation for Medicaid billing for all eligible students.
  • Reporting: Report to the school principal(s) if school-based or to the Exceptional Childrens Preschool Handicapped Lead Teacher if center-based. Both report to the Program Administrator of Exceptional Children and the Executive Director of Exceptional Children.
Essential Job Functions Planning and Oversight
  • Organize the school program and coordinate with other student services.
  • Maintain records in accordance with established rules, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Manage Medicaid billing profiles and therapy notes for Medicaid-eligible students using the designated district billing service.
Screening, Testing, Diagnosing, and Advising
  • Conduct screenings and tests, obtain diagnostic information, analyze it, and make recommendations for programs and services.
  • Supervise speech-language assistants and clinical fellows pursuing ASHA certification.
Developing Individual Education Programs
  • Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for speech-language eligible children in collaboration with classroom teachers, parents, LEA representatives, and other professionals.
Managing and Conducting Therapy
  • Plan and conduct therapy using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques to support the curriculum.
  • Manage time, facilities, and resources effectively.
  • Promote effective interpersonal relations and engage in continuing professional growth.
Liaison Duties
  • Provide consultations and seek assistance as needed.
  • Use related research and make recommendations and referrals for implementing services.
Minimum Training and Experience
  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certification: Preferred to have a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Licenses: Must have a G License from the NC Department of Public Instruction. May also have a license from the Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
Software/Systems
  • ECATS: Experience with this system is required.
