We are looking for a Quality Control Supervisor - RTE (Ready to Eat) to join our team. This position supervises and coordinates the activities of Quality Assistants and Quality Control Leads engaged in in-process sandwich build and packaging. Ensures all produced products meet specifications for quality. Ensures our paperless system is in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Execute assigned food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities to support SQF Code requirements, as updated, regulatory requirements and customers’ requirements.
- Cooperate with all aspects of the safety program at E.A. Sween Company
- Successfully complete the mandatory E. A. Sween Quarterly Safety Training Sessions for the purpose of complying with both OSHA regulations and E. A. Sween policy.
- Follow employer safety and health rules, regulations and standard work in performing the job
- Report hazardous conditions to my supervisor or the safety team
- Wear Proper PPE as needed/required in appropriate areas.
- Responsible for the direct supervision of Quality Assistants and Quality Control Leads. This includes supervision of daily work, training, and personnel functions.
- Train Quality Assistants and Quality Control Leads in their job functions and verify accuracy of their work.
- Review daily quality and food safety data sheets and checklists for accuracy and provide final approval.
- Monitor GMPs within production areas to ensure the safety and quality of our products. Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented when infractions occur.
- Collaborates with the Director of Food Safety & Quality to establish quality goals for the Quality Assistants and Quality Control Leads.
- Execute other tasks/responsibilities as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the Food Safety & Quality Department.
- Maintain an accurate position description and standards of performance
- Professionally represent Deli Express to our suppliers, industry and government
- Maintain 6S in the work area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS Degree in Food Science or related science preferred
- 2 to 3 years of Quality Control experience in the food industry preferred
- Problem solving, technical skills, and good organizational skills are required
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is required
- Experience with verification and validation requirements for SQF or BRC certification preferred
- HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification and PCQI certification preferred
- SPC (Statistical Process Control) skills is desirable
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required.
- Good communication (oral and writing) skills required
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and legible handwriting for documentation is required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift waist high and carry up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to remain on feet for 2-4 hours at a time
- Must be able to work in refrigerated and frozen temperatures for 2-4 hours at a time
- Must be able to work under pressure yet maintain skills needed to perform functions as described
- Maintain and extend a positive attitude toward work environment and be able to accept/withstand negative feedback from others
