Location: UHealth Tower Shift Days: Monday through FridayShift Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pmGreets every individual on the phone or in person with a smile and a warm, professional greeting.
Coordinates with appropriate scheduling department to schedule patient appointments when prior authorizations have not been obtained or have been denied.
Assists departments with inquiries into the status of accounts, pre-certification, eligibility, financial estimates and department policies and procedures.
Ensures all patient information is secure and all paperwork disposed of appropriately to preserve confidentiality.
Ensures that prior authorizations are obtained and fully documented prior to the receipt of services. Contacts physician offices to obtain missing patient information.
Utilizes patient estimate tools and insurance company contacts to obtain accurate out-of-pocket estimates, documents these estimates, and generates estimate letters.
Updates patient accounts as necessary with correct insurance information.
Submits insurance referral documentation in a timely fashion.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Strong customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly detail oriented and organized
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of medical terminology

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination.
