- Utilizes the nursing process to effectively assess the needs of patients; identify a plan of care; and implement and evaluate the care given. Provides direct and indirect care to patients and leads the patient care team toward goal achievement in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and National Standards of Care as identified by respective professional nursing organizations. Coordinates and directs care given by other team members. Addresses system issues to facilitate the provision of quality efficient care. Delegates appropriately to other team members. Excellent communication skills, leadership ability, time management, and problem solving skills required. Supervises facility in absence of department managers and administration. Responsible for ensuring charge RNs staff units according to guidelines, for retrieving medication and supplies for units after hours, oversee the safety and security of the physical building and utilities, coordinate initial operations in the event of a disaster. Performs as a staff RN in the Emergency Department when not performing supervisory duties.
- Position is TWO shifts a week as House Supervisor and ONE shift a week in the Emergency Department.
- Education
- Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Experience
Required: 1 year managerial/supervisory experience
Preferred: 1 year emergency department experience
- Skills
- Represents the department on several process improvement, standardization, and regulatory committees.
- Operates strategic plan by setting and monitoring department Key performance measures and goals.
- Determines department scope of care or service in relation to values, mission, and strategic plan of the institution.
- Assist with developing long term department plans.
- Working knowledge in human relations, customer service, inventory management.
- Ability to work with multiple people while meeting numerous requests and deadlines.
- Goal oriented with initiative and potentials for self-development. Maintains organizational and priority setting skills.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: Nurse License active in the state of Missouri AND BLS needs to be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Required: Must obtain PALS and ACLS within 365 days of hire
