Special Education Teacher

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in the lovely Chelsea , Maine area .There are several openings and this position involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs within a supportive educational environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Provide differentiated instruction based on students' strengths, needs, and learning goals.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and related service providers to support student learning and development.
  • Utilize effective classroom management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and educational plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, including knowledge of best practices in special education.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
  • Commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive educational experience for all students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with diverse populations and understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and other tools to support student learning.
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies based on individual student needs and learning styles.
