This tenure-track position requires regular on-campus presence, with flexible teaching schedules available.Contract Dates: August 16, 2026– June 15, 2027Teaching Formats: Day, evening, weekend, in person,hybrid, and onlineJob Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Mathematics Department at Anne Arundel Community College seeks a full-time instructor or assistant professor of mathematics with a proven ability to teach developmental and college-level mathematics courses including statistics. This position requires regular in-person instruction and online instruction. As a consequence, we welcome qualified faculty candidates who demonstrate:• Commitment to student-centered teaching excellence with a diverse student body and in a variety of teaching formats• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility• Commitment to developing curriculum and programs• Expertise in learning outcomes assessment• Commitment to engaging with students inside and outside of the classroom• Commitment to college service and value community partnerships• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development• Commitment to AACC’s valuesDuties• Thirty faculty load hour annual contract taught during fall and spring terms – including face-to-face, online and/ or hybrid instruction and instruction at off-site locations (including high schools) depending on student need• Six office hours per week during the fall and spring terms which may include student advising and mentoring• Teaching and assessing student learning• Professional development• Department, school and college/community serviceIn addition to a faculty member’s primary responsibilities, the exceptional candidate will also demonstrate commitment and experience in one or more of the following areas:• Mentoring students from target groups; new full-time faculty; part-time faculty• Designing, formatting and delivering accessible curriculum for all learning modalities including distance education formats • Training and consulting for workforce initiatives (e.g., for public and corporate partners, etc.)• Developing and implementing community education and extended learning programs• Partnering with colleagues to enhance services to students and the community• Recruiting and marketing• Advising students• Devising retention strategies and activities• Strengthening relationships and collaborative activities including K-12 and baccalaureate-granting colleaguesRequired Qualifications:• Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics• Minimum of 30 Credit Hours of teaching mathematics at a college• Ability to teach a wide range of community college mathematics courses including developmental and credit-level courses• Experience integrating technology and innovative teaching strategies to improve student learning• Experience working collaboratively with colleaguesPreferred Qualifications:• Community college teaching experience • Experience teaching in face-to-face and online formats• Ability to teach upper-level STEM courses such as the calculus series (Calculus 1, 2, and 3), Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and/or Discrete Structures• Experience teaching statistics and/ or data science • Experience in accelerated and/or technology-supported developmental mathematics pathways• Knowledge of the mission of community colleges and issues directly related to serving community college studentsAnne Arundel Community College (AACC) is committed to enriching the educational experience it offers through the diversity of its faculty, administrators, and staff members.
