Description:

The Business Application Analyst will report to the Workday and IS Applications Supervisor. This role is responsible for assisting in the design, development and maintenance of business application environments. Supports multiple third party applications including but not limited to the time and attendance and staff scheduling of all colleagues through the Health System. Reviews and maintains an in-depth knowledge of assigned system applications, related departmental policies, procedures and business operations, staffing and scheduling principles, and system configurations. This individual will be involved with configuring and rolling out new features, troubleshooting system issues and providing day to day support. May participate in on-call coverage as assigned.

•Serve as business application analyst to support internal business initiatives.

•Provide support as assigned via the hospital IT help desk ticketing system. Resolve incidents in a timely fashion and prioritize requests.

•In conjunction with vendor’s hosting and managed services, perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of server resources, systems and key processes. As necessary, monitor system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs.

•Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes. Use project management skills in delivering system benefits to the hospital.

•Investigate and troubleshoot issues as identified by HR and Payroll teams or by staff managers.

•Provide system support for specific standard organizational processes such as PTO Payouts and Departmental Staffing changes.

•Support Payroll team with configuration of new pay codes and calculations within API/Symplr

•Collaborate with Field Support team to support badge readers with the API/Symplr Time and Attendance system

•Work with vendor to manage regular upgrades. Configure and/or add new services as necessary. Document relevant new features and distribute education to staff.

•Execute ongoing performance tuning, system upgrades, and resource optimization as required.

•Update newly created positions, profiles, and labor distributions in systems. Maintain staffing and scheduling settings to support labor productivity goals.

•Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train trainers/education team on new processes/functionality.

•Support and Troubleshoot worker and staffing integrations between API/Symplr and Workday

•Perform special duties, tasks, or projects as required.

Participates in continued learning and possess a willingness and ability to learn and utilize new technology and procedures that continue to develop in their role and throughout the organization.

Embraces technological advances that allow us to communicate information effectively and efficiently based on role. Background in programming, systems analysis, design and problem solving a plus.

Ability to translate user requirements into functional and design specifications, communicate with report consumers to gather specifications, review designs, present drafts, and validate results. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of hospital operations, procedures/functions and the relationships between them.

Strong relationship building and effective communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Experience organizing and running multiple projects. Strong organization, analysis and problem solving skills required, with an emphasis on attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to adapt to a changing environment, problem solve and develop solutions. Experience with Microsoft Office required. Familiar with HIPAA, JCAHO and other regulations that impact hospitals and clinics.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

•Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Clinical/Business Information Systems, Informatics, Information Technology, or sciences and equivalent experience is also strongly desirable.

•Healthcare clinical or business operations background in areas such as payroll, scheduling, access services, HR or other support functions a plus.

•Kronos or Symplyr/API work experience is highly desirable.

•Prior experience and/or certification in Workday application also preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

•Knowledge and experience with health care information systems or knowledge of processes and workflows in business and clinical settings.

•Flexible team player with strong project management and organizational skills.

•Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts in terms understandable to end-users, strong written and verbal communication skills to include the creation of project documentation and technical writing, ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on workflow design, problem solving and other projects that support business needs.

•Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills are necessary.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point required.
