Calling on Certified Special Education Teachers based in the suburbs of Austin, TX Soliant is working with a local school district and is seeking a contract provider for the upcoming school year.

Requirements:

  • Active Special Education Teacher Certificate from the Texas Education Agency
  • Case management experience strongly desired

We are seeking applicants who can either work in high school inclusion classrooms, or work in a Middle School classroom for students with behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working to understand student, based on parental feedback, staff consultations, and prior records
  • Administering diagnostic tests
  • Consolidating testing information, observations, and determining student's strengths, weaknesses, and potential
  • Participating in the ARD (Admissions, Referral, Dismissals) process
  • Developing short-term and long-term goals, as part of an Individual Education Plan
  • Presenting students' present levels, and their IEP goals, to staff and parents
  • Developing classroom activities, implementing lesson plans, and presenting periodic progress reports
  • Collaborating with classroom aides to foster a safe learning environment
  • Maintaining record of student activities
  • Consulting with parents, and making adjustments to classroom activities as needed
