Test Engineer, Mid

The Opportunity:

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, a knowledgeable Test Engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.

As a Test Engineer on our team, you’ll work with testers, software engineers, and systems engineers to evaluate software developed for national defense. You’ll work on creating a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automated and manual processes, you’ll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of training registration and learning management systems.

This is an opportunity to leverage your skills by writing the code to test. You’ll also further your experience in testing complex microservices and user interfaces and explore new areas like automation.

Work with us as we develop software solutions to enhance our nation's security.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with performing software quality assurance activities

  • 2+ years of experience interpreting and translating requirements into test cases and test plans

  • 2+ years of experience with writing clear and concise test, requirements, or design-related documentation

  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle

  • Ability to show creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness

  • Ability to comprehend data, draw conclusions, and work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work on multiple, related projects to provide cohesive input to multiple development teams

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20% of the time

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience testing mobile devices, mobile applications, or web-based applications

  • Experience integrating new and enhanced features, including the integration of third-party commercial applications, into test cases and plans

  • Experience supporting and facilitating client test events

  • Experience with the JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office

  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language or scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, Java, or C#

  • Experience working independently and in a collaborative and distributive team environment

  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings

  • Ability to recommend solutions to challenges and communicate effectively with staff, management, and clients

  • Possession of excellent interpersonal and organizational skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or another relevant technical field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
