Driving School Instructor

As a Part-TimeDriving Instructor on the AAA Driving School team, you must beavailable to work evenings and weekends with an average of 25 hoursper week. You will have an opportunity to make a difference intraffic safety in your local community by educating teens andadults on the fundamentals of safe driving. You will be responsiblefor teaching safe driving techniques to students of all ages andexperience levels, provide a positive learning environment, and bepatient and have excellent knowledge of state driving laws andregulations.  In this role, you will be providedwith:

  • $1000 sign on bonus forlicensed instructors

  • Paidlicensing andtraining

  • Tuitionassistance

Whatyou’ll do:

  • Everyday, you will conduct behind-the-wheel training to drivers of allages and experience levels as prescribed by the AAA Driving Schoolcurriculum and trainingprogram.

  • You will utilizeour driving school software to record and maintain studentprogress.

  • You will haveresponsibility for evaluating student’s performance and provideadditional support asneeded.

  • You will maintainknowledge of safe driving and defensive driving practices andmaintain all records required by the state ofCalifornia.

  • Thisposition may require you to work in various locations within a (50)mile radius. Company car with paid gas, maintenance, and insurancewill beprovided.

WhatYou’ll Need:

  • Tothrive in this role, you should bring experience in drivinginstruction, teaching, education, or the automotiveindustry. 

  • You areconfident in your ability to interact well with the public andteens specifically.

  • You havea strong motivation to improve safe driving practices of alldrivers.

  • You are flexibleenough to accommodate the availability of our students, which meansworking weekday schedules starting as late as 12 pm during theschool year and teaching on at least one weekend day perweek.

  • You can sit forprolonged periods of time in avehicle.

  • You can see andhear during all weatherconditions.

  • You are able tobend, stoop, kneel, touch andreach.

  • You can lift up to25lbs.

MustHaves:

  • High SchoolDiploma or equivalent

  • Validdriver’s license and an acceptable drivingrecord

  • 3-5 years of drivingexperience

  • Willbe required to obtain Driving School licensing by the state,including to take and pass a physical exam as required bytheDMV 

  • Willbe required to pass a background check and drugtest.

Ourpart-time Driving Instructors are paid an hourly rate of$24.00.
