Position: LBS1 (SPED) Teacher
Location: Chicago, IL
Start Date: August 19, 2024
End Date: June 3, 2025
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, Monday - Friday
Age Range: 5-12 years

Job Details: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled LBS1 (Special Education) Teacher to join our team for the 2024/2025 school year. The teacher will be responsible for working with students aged 5-12 who have special needs, providing individualized instruction and support to help them achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of settings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor student progress.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each student.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other relevant conferences.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to support student learning.

Qualifications:

  • Must have an active LBS1 PEL (Professional Educator License).
  • Preferably two years of experience, but strong new graduates will be considered.
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with children aged 5-12.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a school environment.
  • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of students.
