Are you a passionate and dedicated special education teacher with a heart for empowering students of all ages?

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Ottawa Hills, OH area This full-time, on-site position for the 2024-2025 school year offers the rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students across the middle and high school spectrum (grades 6-12).

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans tailored to the individual needs and learning styles of students with diverse learning needs across grades 6-12.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and differentiated learning approaches to ensure all students have access to the curriculum and reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, administrators, paraprofessionals, and parents to create a cohesive Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of instruction to inform ongoing lesson plans and interventions for students across grades 6-12.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, social-emotional development, and independence for students of all ages (grades 6-12).
  • Advocate for students' rights and inclusion, fostering a positive school culture that celebrates diversity in learning styles across the middle and high school levels.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in special education and curriculum development, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students at various developmental stages.

Qualifications:

  • Ohio State Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Prior experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a secondary school setting (grades 6-12) is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction practices for middle and high school students.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans specifically tailored to the needs of students across grades 6-12.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students of all ages, parents, and school staff.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes respect and inclusion for all students within the middle and high school grades.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting on student progress across grades 6-12.
