Sign Language Interpreter - Soliant Schools

Location: Brentwood, TN Area

Soliant Schools, a leading education staffing company, is currently seeking dedicated Sign Language Interpreters to join our team for contracted positions within a school district inthe Brentwood, TN area. This is a W-2 based, full-time role with competitive benefits, and the hourly rate will be determined based on experience.

Position Overview:

As a Sign Language Interpreter with Soliant Schools, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff within the school setting. The interpreter positions available include opportunities in elementary, middle, and high school levels. Most interpreting positions follow a 1:1 structure, with the exception of one (1:2) in an elementary setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation services in educational settings.
  • Facilitate communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to support the academic and social success of students.
  • Follow the established schedule and adhere to school hours.

School Hours:

  • Elementary School: 8:30am - 4:00pm
  • Middle/High School: 7:30am - 3:00pm

Requirements:

  • Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
  • Experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and adapt to various classroom environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
