The Opportunity:

As a CNO Capability Development Specialist, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to how law enforcement investigates modern technology. We’re looking for a CNO Capability Development Specialist who can use their skills to gain access and recover data from today's electronics in support of law enforcement investigations.

At Booz Allen, you’ll use your engineering skills to a support a broad range of partners in law enforcement. Our team performs a wide range of technical examinations required to successfully exploit both commercial and custom electronic devices. You’ll reverse engineer system interfaces, storage, and security, prototype in software or hardware, and create novel test equipment and procedures.

That’s why we need you, a CNO Capability Development Specialist, with experience in embedded systems, to help us “hack” modern electronics and recover critical information to provide detailed analysis reports to law enforcement organizations, the military services, and international partners. This is a chance to use your skills while gaining experience in this high-impact, high visibility role.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering lab or development environment

  • 5+ years of experience with ARM architectures and processors

  • 5+ years of experience with C, C++, or Python programming languages

  • Ability to prepare written documents such as reports, test plans, design specifications, requirements documents, and training materials

  • Ability to brief and present findings to clients, customers, and external partners, interact with client engineers, and respond to technical questions and requests from customers

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or Computer Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with embedded flash memory technology

  • Experience with UART, I2C, SPI, JTAG, or other protocols for system interface, programming, and debugging

  • Experience with Chain of Custody and evidence handling procedures in a forensic laboratory

  • Experience with imaging, extracting, and parsing data from electronic devices

  • Experience with reverse engineering tools, including IDA Pro, OllyDbg, or Ghidra

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information;Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
