Electrician - Security Clearance Required

ASRC Federal Communications is seeing a Electrician for our ISS2 contact supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island. It’s a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule of 3 months on the island and on month off unpaid, Wake Island is 2,100 miles away from HNL. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. 

Essential Duties & Job Functions

  • Responsible for installation and construction with some maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
  • Read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction, including but not limited to:
    • hydraulic/electric benders,
    • knockout punch sets,
    • cable puller, meggers,
    • hi-pot equipment,
    • volt meters,
    • multi-testers
    • ammeter
  • Set and coordinate over-current protective devices, size feeder circuits and basic understanding to work on systems across the island.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician's License
  • Two years of experience as a Journeyman electrician.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management
  • Strong MS Office and other computer skills
  • Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules
  • Ability to speak, write and read English.
  • Must have state drives licenses and an acceptable record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred

  • Remote location work experience
  • Confined Space training
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting.
