MCC is committed to transforming lives as we educate, challenge, and support all students as evident in our strategic plan.Job Description:Title: JED Committee Student MemberUnit: PT Student EmployeeDepartment: Wellness Resource CenterReports to: Assistant Dean of Student Support ServicesDate: September 22, 2025 (Reopend October 9, 2025)General Summary: Entry-level position for students to participate and provide student perspective on our JED Committees, which are centered around student mental health and well-being. Committee Members are expected to read through committee documents and materials, participate in discussion, and follow-up on tasks as assigned during committee meetings. The primary focus of this role is for students to be represented in conversations about how to support student mental health. Committees include Mental Health & Substance Use, Community & Belonging and Awareness Campaigns. Approximately 3 hours per month, which will include attending a monthly meeting, reading committee material,s and any follow-up as assigned.Duties and Responsibilities:Attend meetings as assignedPrepare for scheduled meetings, including reviewing committee materials priorActively participate in meetingsComplete any follow-up work as neededRequirements:Currently enrolled as a student at Middlesex Community CollegeCompletion of at least 12 credits with a minimum 2.5 GPA and current enrollment in college-level coursesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to share openly and participate fully in dialog during meetings Ability to attend meetings online (may also include some in person meetings on occasion)Understanding of and adherence to all confidentiality standards of the CollegePreferred Qualifications:Experience representing the student viewpointInterest in mental health Additional Information: Salary Range: $16.25 per hour in accordance with Student Wage ScheduleLocation: RemoteHours: Approximately 3 hours per monthExpected Start Date: October 2025Application Deadline: This position will remain open until filledApplication Instructions:All applicants must apply online by submitting:Cover LetterResumeNames and contact information for three (3) professional referencesPre-Employment Requirements:The College will not sponsor applicants for work visas.All offers of employment at Middlesex Community College are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
