We are a distinguished educational institution situated in Oak Lawn, IL, dedicated to providing exceptional learning opportunities for our students. In our ongoing commitment to student success and well-being, we are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the upcoming 2024/2025 school year.

Position Overview: As a School Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students' communication and language development. Working closely with educators, support staff, and families, your responsibilities will include assessing students' communication abilities, delivering therapy services, and assisting students in overcoming speech and language challenges to reach their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language skills.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs and goals.
  • Deliver direct therapy services targeting various speech and language disorders, such as articulation, fluency, voice, and language delays.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and classroom activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians to update them on students' progress and offer recommendations for support at home.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and school initiatives aimed at supporting students' success and enhancing the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Possess a valid license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in Illinois.
  • Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or be eligible for certification.
  • Previous experience working in a school environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrate compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to meeting the communication needs of students.
