Vaco Staffing is seeking a Safety Specialist for a client in Kenosha, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients.

Main Duties:
  • Identify various compliance and safety issues, and encourage hazard recognition to support the company to eliminate all at-risk behaviors.
  • Be a resource of information to employee questions and issues regarding safety
  • Assist the on-site Safety Team in developing training topics relevant to the job site and actively participating and facilitating safety meetings with on-site supervision and field staff.
  • Conduct accident investigations and review meetings to determine and communicate root causes for future prevention
  • Perform weekly Safety Orientations to new employees on the job site.
  • Complete train-the-trainer courses and provide on the job training to employees as requested.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, and/or Safety
  • Previous internship or work experience involving safety preferred
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in construction safety.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
