Soliant Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Hammond, NY area. This full-time, on-site position offers the rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs in a resource classroom setting.

About the Role:

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs. You will provide targeted instruction within a resource classroom environment while collaborating with general education teachers for inclusion opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with general education teachers, specialists, and related service providers to create a comprehensive learning environment for students with special needs.
  • Utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and differentiated learning techniques to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Developing and implementing lesson plans that are aligned with state standards and IEP goals.
  • Monitoring student progress, collecting data, and reporting on student achievement.
  • Providing students with social-emotional learning support to promote their overall well-being.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • New York State Special Education Teaching License.
  • Experience working with students with special needs in a resource classroom setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of special education curriculum, assessment practices, and instructional methodologies.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and effectively manage a resource classroom.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for helping students with special needs reach their full potential.
