About The Position
ID: 49278980 Shift: 8H Day Description: Sterile Tech needed for UConn John Dempsey Hospital 13 week contracts 8h shifts with variable start times 7a, 9a, 11a, 3p. Every Other Weekend Requirement Previous travel preferred Will accept Covid medical/religious exemption Time off requests must be kept to a minimum during your assignment and must be approved prior to confirmation. Please note, holidays off will be limited to 1 of the 3 major and at the discretion of UCONN Health. At UConn Health, this position is responsible for decontaminating, processing, assembling, sterilizing and storing surgical instrumentation and medical equipment and assembles case carts for surgical procedures. This position will work in the Central Sterile Supply department which includes Sterile Processing & Distribution in the CT Tower, Sterile Supply in the Main OR-University Tower and UConn Health Surgery Center in the Musculoskeletal Institute, rotation to all Central Sterile and Distribution areas is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of experience in a hospital setting involved in the sterilization, decontamination, processing, assembly, storing and distribution of surgical instrumentation, supplies, devices and equipment. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Currently working in OR Central Sterilization and current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) credentials administered by the Certified Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD). Mandatory Emergency Staffing Requirement Mandatory Overtime: During Personnel s assignment with Client, he or she is considered part of the unit and will be included as part of the rotation pool of staff (i.e., Client employees and Personnel) who are required to work additional hours on an as-needed basis to ensure coverage for the unit. Float: Client may float or reassign Personnel to a different department, unit, or facility (within 30 miles of the Personnel s originally assigned facility) within the Personnel s clinical competence.
