Special Education Teacher - 8th Grade
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Employment Type: Full Time (37.5 hours/week)
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. As a Special Education teacher, youwill be responsible for teaching 8th grade students in a combination class setting, which includes both resource and self-contained students. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the education and development of students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in both resource and self-contained settings.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and social development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to create a cohesive learning experience for all students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and materials to engage students and enhance their academic progress.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with 8th grade students in a special education setting.
- Familiarity with both resource and self-contained class settings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Experience in general education is a plus.
