Lead Accountant/Accounting Manager
Rockwall, TX – Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite

One of Vaco's highly-acquisitive clients and an industry leader in their space is looking to onboard a Senior/"Lead" Accountant as part of their internal growth strategy for 2025.  Ideally looking for someone that wants to step into an Accounting Manager further down the line.

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Own the month-end close processes for assigned areas, including daily interaction with internal business partners and external auditors.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Implement new policies and procedures and modify existing policies and procedures to make the financial reporting/accounting processes more effective, streamlined and efficient.
  • Provide analytical support and financial analysis in support of the team's projects, including potential acquisitions, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction initiatives, etc.
"Nice-to-haves"
  • Experience out of a restaurant, retail or consumer products environment.
  • Hands-on experience with M&A and integration projects.
  • Exposure to publicly-traded companies and the corresponding SEC filing requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation.
  • General ledger and related reconciliation experience.
