Special Education Teacher- Virginia

Position: Special Education Teacher

Location: Scottsburg, Virginia Area

Soliant Education is currently seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to fill two full-time positions in the Scottsburg, Virginia Area. Each position requires 37.5 hours per week.

Position Details:

K-5 Grade Life Skills Classroom:

• Work with students in a K-5 grade life skills classroom.
• Maximum caseload of 10 students.
• All students are focusing on life skills and basic academics.
• Paraprofessionals will be available to support in the classroom.

6-8 Grade Life Skills Classroom:

• Work with students in a 6-8 grade life skills classroom.
• Maximum caseload of 10 students.
• All students are focusing on life skills and basic academics.
• Paraprofessionals will be available to support in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Provide direct instruction in life skills and basic academic subjects.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student success.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Valid Virginia teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a life skills setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Pay:

• $35-38 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications).
