Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Sibley, LA. The SLP/SLPA will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders, working collaboratively to help them succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students (SLP).
  • Assist the SLP in conducting screenings and implementing therapy plans (SLPA).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs (SLP).
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, as per the treatment plan.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives (SLP).
  • Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
  • Educate and support parents and teachers on strategies to enhance students' communication skills.

Qualifications:

For SLP:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid SLP license or certification in Louisiana.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.

For SLPA:

  • Associates degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field.
  • Valid SLPA certification or license in Louisiana.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred.
