Description

Job Description: SAIC is seeking a Logistics/Procurement Analyst to provide support for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center for multiple programs.  The hire will be responsible for supporting MILSTRP procurements and property management at NAVSTA Newport. The individual will Source, negotiate and purchase IT Hardware and software, fabricated parts, machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies and incidental services necessary for operation of an organization or program; Interface with vendors to obtain quotes; process Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders; update Excel spreadsheets with relevant information; kitting and tracking inventory; interface with customers to develop procurement requirements and to provide status updates; Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives; Monitor performance of suppliers; Track data to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes; Prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

Additional skills:  Must be able to work independently, but also in a team environment and share information with others.  Must show initiative and have the ability to work on multiple tasks with changing deadlines and priorities in an environment with frequent interruptions.  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and flexibility are required; the ability to establish a solid working relationship with customers, vendors, technical staff, managers, and peers, and various Government and contractor personnel.  Computer Skills are to include proficiency in MS Office Suite with advance skills in Excel. 

Qualifications

Requirements: 

·         Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related experience; Masters and one year of related experience

·         Ability to acquire a SECRET government clearance

·         Experience with MILSTRP preferred

·         MS Office proficiency including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

·         Detail oriented and organized

·         Quick learner and proactive

·         Ability to manage logistical issues 

Desired:

·         DoD Experience

·         Procurement Experience

·         Ability to work with databases
