Job Description:

Raritan Valley Community College's Math and Computer Science Department invites applicants to apply for an adjunct faculty position in Computer Networking and Cybersecurity. Seeking qualified candidates to teach courses in Networking Essentials, Computer Hardware and Software, Fundamentals of Information Security, Computer Forensics, and Ethical Hacking.

Essential Duties:

Utilize our learning management system Canvas along with COMPTIA Testout to teach computer networking and Cybersecurity courses.

Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction through regular assessment and the utilization of innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.

Assess courses and programs following departmental and college-wide guidelines.

Work collaboratively in a diverse learning institution while actively engaging in initiatives to close the equity gap and remove barriers to success; promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.

Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives, and inform them in a timely manner of their progress.

Review, evaluate, redesign, and recommend instructional materials as needed.

Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and community members.

Adhere to College policies and procedures.

Requirements:

A minimum of a Master's degree in Computer Science CIS/ IT or related field is required.

Minimum of two years teaching experience.

Ability to teach day and evening courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional experience in Networking and Security.

CCAI (Cisco Certified Academy Instructor).

COMPTIA, Microsoft and Cisco Certification.

Teach Courses using COMPTIA TestOut and Cisco Academy online platforms.

Demonstrated professional development related to Computer Science and Networking/Cybersecurity field and/or teaching pedagogy.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Prior Community College teaching experience.

Experience using instructional technology in the delivery of course content.

Online and/or Hybrid teaching experience.
