Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Merced, California

Position Summary: We are looking for a talented and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team in Merced, California. The ideal candidate will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders, helping them to improve their communication skills and succeed academically. The Speech-Language Pathologist will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create and implement individualized treatment plans.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Develop and execute individualized treatment plans to address the specific needs of each student.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to enhance students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' educational goals.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the formulation of students' educational plans.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide training and resources to teachers and parents to support students' communication development.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all services provided.
  • Stay updated on current practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist License issued by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • California Credential authorizing service as a Speech-Language Pathologist in public schools.
  • Experience working with children in a K-12 school setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language assessment tools, intervention strategies, and special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with diverse groups.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist License.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • California Credential authorizing service in public schools, such as the Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards set by ASHA and the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
