Job Title: High School ELA Teacher - Resource Room

Location: Bergenfield, New Jersey (surrounding areas)
Employment Type: Contract, Full-time hours, ASAP- March
Work Hours: 7:50-2:55

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for our Resource Room. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who require additional academic support and will be committed to creating an inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, and parents to support student learning and progress.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and facilitate their understanding of ELA concepts.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction as necessary to ensure academic success.
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Provide targeted interventions and support for students with learning disabilities and other challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in English, Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in ELA and Special Education (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience working with high school students in a resource room or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
