Mechanical Supervisor Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee all of the department’s operations, which is staffed by skilled mechanics, machinists, and helpers.

Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead a team of mechanical technicians and oversee their daily activities to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Coordinate and execute mechanical maintenance and repair activities on various maritime vessels, including propulsion systems, engines, pumps, and auxiliary equipment

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all mechanical work meets industry standards, specifications, and client requirements.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Training and Development:

  • Train new technicians and provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to improve team performance and skill levels.

Inventory and Resource Management:

  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts and equipment. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of required materials.

Mechanical Supervisor Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, preferably in the maritime industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including diesel engines, pumps, hydraulics, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with ship repair processes is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues effectively and efficiently.
