Requirements

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:  Graduate ofan accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program.  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation TherapyTechnology.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:Registered and certified by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technology (ARRT) as an RTT.  Current New MexicoState license.

SKILLS: Ability to operate a linear accelerator,computerized record and verify system, portal imager, CT/simulator,HDR and ultrasound.  Excellent computer skills and troubleshooting ability.

EXPERIENCE:  Priorexperience as a radiation therapist or a new graduate.

NATURE OFSUPERVISION:

-Responsible to: Director, CHRISTUS St. Vincent CancerCenter

ENVIRONMENT:

- Bloodborne pathogens -B

Exposure to radiation,chemotherapy drugs, Hepatitis B, contagious diseases, infectedwounds and needle puncture inherent in an acute caresetting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to move quickly, bending, stretching,lifting patients of all weights with assistance, pulling or pushingwheelchairs and stretchers. Manual dexterity, good vision, hearingand speech.  Ability to lift heavy objects above the head orbelow knee level.
